Love's Meaning
Love's meaning is so vital that there would be little reason for our lives without it.
Just take a minute to imagine this world without love. If love ceased to exist, families wouldn't form because people would not be brought together by any concept. Once born, we'd be left to survive by ourselves. Our mothers wouldn't nurture us, because don't forget that raising a child is based on unconditional love - which wouldn't exist.
We'd then need to be providing for ourselves from birth, so the world would be utter, lonely chaos. Actually, the world couldn't even operate. How could a young child or baby possibly make lunch! We people could not keep ourselves alive without one another. Without love, we would not have each other.
It becomes blatant that one man by himself is a meaningless idea of existence. Everything positive that's ever occurred is the product of creation by more than just one person. For example, the website that I run has been completely my own efforts, yet I would not be capable of writing how I do without my family having brought me up decently, or without me having had experiences with many people to find out the things I've learnt.
Everything positive ever done blossoms on love at it's heart. For example, why would you go to earn money, even in work that you dislike? Because you require money to maintain your family's standard of living. Why do this? Because you love them.
Why do masses of people, most weekends, go to arenas and stadiums to watch a sport? They love the sport. Why do armed forces go to war against foolish 'evil' organisations? They want to defend good, harmless people. Why do they want to safeguard such people? In some way, they love them so they feel am urge to protect.
This demonstrates to us that love's meaning is pretty much laying dormant in everything we do. So far, this article has implied that humankind prospers on love, but it hasn't yet delved into WHY mankind structures itself in alignment with love - which is what we'll investigate next.
You know that your immediate family mean near enough everything to you. They are the only reason that you would travel to the ends of the earth for and maybe even die for. As we've established, your association with them thrives on love. So you'd do anything for, and maybe even die for love.
As you'll already know, it isn't just you that feels this strongly about family, and therefore love. Everyone in the world has it 'engraved' in them to feel that family and hence - love is the most decisive thing in their lives.
You must realise that, if each and every one of us appreciate the same concept (love) as the most important thing in existence, then we have a connection between us all. There exists a unity between all people regarding the importance of love.
Once you notice this, you realize that love's meaning is to become aware that between all of us, we, as separate beings, form ONE in love. Love's meaning is to give you the ability to see through the reality that we are individuals or that in general, we barely know one another. It matters not who knows who and who likes who, because the dominance and thus, power of love outmuscles all of it.
When someone's life is at threat, you'll see people who do not know the person who's in trouble put their lives in danger to rescue him. What makes the 'rescuer' want to save the guy? He feels a natural mental response, telling him to save another human's life. What did we establish as the only thing you'd go to the ends of the earth, or perhaps die for? It's love.
You do not need to love someone with overwhelming emotion to love them on a deeper, spiritual level. You've just got to realise that, we all have a mutual greatest of great importance 'constant' towards love, and because of this, we are united into 'oneness'.
You might be wondering how exactly I came across this sort of thing?
It was basically through looking into spirituality. By now you'll know that due to the huge importance of love, if we commit to strengthening the love we've already got, and into creating new love, then we'll become more fulfilled people.
